The Mikulicz abdominal hook is most commonly used during laparotomy surgery. The hook allows the intra-abdominal tissue or liver to be grasped and retracted and retained, giving access to the Morrison's horn. The spring-loaded, curved working section allows easy retraction of large organs. The slim handle allows access to deeper layers and provides a comfortable, secure grip. The instrument has excellent corrosion protection properties and is made of stainless steel.
