A high-quality eddy current brake with a permanent computer-aided torque control is used for the speed-independent load. This control, together with the ideal design of the flywheel mass, results in a very pleasant pedalling feel, through which the power reserves can be fully exploited. The gearbox, built with the most modern components, works almost silently even at high speed.
The stepless adjustment of saddle height and handlebar position allows an optimal training posture for persons with a body height of 120 to 210 cm. The comfortable low step-through between handlebar and saddle is particularly advantageous for older and disabled persons. Its comfortable saddle corresponds to the latest developments of a touring saddle in the bicycle industry. It may be useful to exchange it for special saddles for different purposes (e.g. pulmonary function tests for athletes, rehab use, etc.). For this purpose, the saddle bar has been equipped with a standard mount, which makes it possible to mount all commercially available saddle models as desired. The sturdy tubular steel construction of the ergometer frame allows a patient weight of up to 200 kg without any problems.
The control centre of the SanaBike 500 is located in the measuring head and consists of computer-controlled high-performance electronics. The touch display on the front of the measuring head shows the most important ergometry data and allows the user to operate the ergometer. On the top of the measuring head, which can be rotated by 180°, there is an LED display that shows the patient his current speed.
Thanks to the modern computer-controlled electronics of the SanaBike 500, all common load controls can be carried out by means of an external master device. In addition, the load can be changed manually in steps of 5 watts on the touch display.
