Boso ABI-system 100 - Ankle-brachial index meter

The renewed procedure of the boso-ABI-100 system allows the development of ABI and its widespread adoption in medical practice, as the test takes only a few minutes without any special preparation. Both the doctor and the patient benefit from this performance spectrum, as it allows accurate diagnosis, early and targeted treatment. The system works on the oscillometric measurement principle. The pressure fluctuations (oscillations) caused by the pulse waves and transmitted by the cuff are recorded by the device and evaluated by a microprocessor. The advantage of this measurement method is that it does not require a microphone or a Doppler, the precise placement of which has a major impact on the reliability of the measurement results.
With simultaneous measurements on four limbs, the calculation of the ankle-arm index with the new boso-ABI-100 system is very accurate and reliable. The previous ultrasound Doppler solution always had the disadvantage that the measurements were taken one after the other and therefore the measurement was erroneous due to fluctuations in blood pressure. In addition, the previous Doppler probe procedure required a great deal of skill and experience, which meant that the test could usually only be performed by the doctor.

After the measurement, the values are transmitted via a USB connection to the computer, where the evaluation software automatically calculates the ABI. This requires the boso-ABI software to include a database for patient management, a graphical representation of the values and a GDT port for data transfer to the computer.
