Compressor inhalers
In this type of inhaler, aerosol formation is based on the Bernoulli effect. A compressor produces compressed air which is expelled through a nozzle. The high velocity of the air causes a pressure drop, which sucks up the medicine and atomizes it. The resulting aerosol is pushed out by the air that does the atomizing. The size and volume of the particles depend on the pressure applied and the speed of the flow. Advantages: low price, low running costs.
