The EZ-IO Intraosseous Needle for EZ-IO Drill for Overweight Patients LD 15mm sterile needle set is a medical device used for direct intraosseous (IO) infusion procedures. The needle set is specially designed to facilitate and make IO procedures safer.
After removing the introducer needle, a standard luer connection is possible. Material: 304 stainless steel.
The needle set contains needles 15mm in length (yellow), which are recommended for use with more serious adult patients. The needle set comes sterile and individually packaged.
IO interventions are usually used in emergency situations when intravenous (IV) access is not possible or when delaying IV access could be life-threatening. During an IO procedure, the doctor inserts the needle into the bone, allowing the infusion to enter the bloodstream immediately.
