The BD Blunt Fill needle is designed for safely drawing up medication from various containers. The blunt tip reduces the risk of needlestick injuries for healthcare staff, and the distinctively coloured hub and cap make it instantly recognisable as a fill (not injection) needle.
The version without filter is recommended for multi-dose containers; the version with a 5 µm particle filter is intended for glass ampoules – the filter retains tiny glass particles produced when the ampoule is opened.
