Tubes of the BD Vacutainer closed evacuated blood collection system have a precisely defined vacuum, so the tube always fills with the nominal volume and the blood-to-additive ratio is correct. The Hemogard safety closure reduces the risk of blood splatter on opening, and the colour code allows quick identification.
